So you think you know what a day in the life of a Preschool teacher is like? In this blog, I’m going to take you through a typical day and show you what really goes on.
Hey everyone, my name is Sonal Ravi Andrews and I am a Preschool teacher trainer. A lot of people seem to think that Preschool teachers just play with kids all day and that it’s easy, but they have no idea about the real work that goes into it. In this blog, I’m going to take you through a typical day in the life of a Preschool teacher so you can see for yourself.
1: Getting Ready for the Day
The first thing I do when I get to work is to prepare the materials I need for the day. This includes setting up the learning centres, getting the art supplies ready, and making sure the books are in the right place.
2: Welcoming the Children
Once the children start arriving, it’s time to welcome them into the classroom. I help them hang up their bags and put away their lunch boxes. Then we do a quick review of the essential rules and go over our schedule for the day.
3: Morning Meeting
We start our day with a morning meeting. This is when we do our greeting, share something about ourselves, and talk about the day ahead. This is also a great time to review the concepts we’ve been working on. This can be called circle time, assembly or free-play or transition time.
4. Concept – Time
After the morning meeting, the children break up into small groups for instruction. This is when I teach them the skills they need to know. We work on things like learning our colours, shapes, letters, and numbers.
5: Snack
After a busy morning of learning, it’s time for a snack. The children wash their hands and then we all sit down together to enjoy a snack. This is also a great time to talk about good nutrition and healthy eating habits.
6: Recess
After snack, it’s time for recess. This is when the children get to run around and burn off some energy. They love this time of day!

Now, it’s time for lunch. The children wash their hands and then we all sit down together to enjoy a meal. This is also a great time to talk about table manners and try new foods.

9: Storytime
After lunch, it’s time for Storytime. This is when we read aloud and the children listen. We also do some fun activities to go along with the story.
10: Clean Up
At the end of the day, it’s time to clean up. The children help me put away the materials and tidy up the classroom. Then they wash their hands and get ready to go home.
Conclusion
So that’s a typical day in the life of an Early Childhood Educator! As you can see, it’s not all fun and games. It takes a lot of hard work to teach young children. But it’s also extremely rewarding. Seeing the children learn and grow is an amazing feeling. Thanks for watching!
